Vanguard worked for a large blue chip chemical plant in Scotland. The project entailed the installation of a new cooling system including a cooling radiator and heat exchanger. Our pipework team installed 80mm stainless steel cooling pipework from the radiator to the heat exchanger. Further 80mm stainless steel pipework was installed from the load lines (the products are explosive chemicals) to the exchanger then up to the storage tank. The complex contract had a duration of four weeks with a team of pipe fitters and coded welders as well as our plant installation fitters and riggers. The final aspect of the project involved changing over from the old system to the new one. The work was time critical and process led with the client’s production requirements key to the success of this contract.
